With a couple of consecutive wins under our belt and playing a team near the bottom of the league we felt fairly positive as we warmed up for our match against Milton Keynes.

We got off to a good start and our rotating forwards Jennifer, Charlotte, Kate and Sophie were able to press the MK defence. With strong support from midfield shared between Emma, Helen, Ophelia and Megan we easily dominated our attacking half and we soon went 1 goal up when ‘Silver Bullet’ Jennifer drove the ball down the right wing and cracked it across the circle for Charlotte to cleanly connect and slot the ball in to the goal. A second goal came from Kate after a battle in the circle and we went into half time two goals in the lead. MK came out stronger in the second half and pushed most of their players into the attack which took us a little by surprise and made us lose some of our structure. This put pressure on our defence of Phoebe, Trish, Rebecca, Annamarie and Liz and MK managed to score their first goal from a rebound strike from a short corner. With ten minutes to go this caused some concern so we had to concentrate on keeping the MK attack at bay and despite being unable to convert a number of short corners towards the end of the game (we could have done with Chops!), we still secured the 2-1 win!
Player of the match went to Jennifer ‘Silver Bullet’ with a convincing 10 votes out of 13.  She played a fantastic game as a forward as she was always in the right place at the right time and used her speed and long legs to sprint past the opposition and drive the play to our circle, time and again. Fantastic play Jennifer!
