The ladies 3's travelled to Milton Keynes for a late push back, ready for our third successive away match...

We started strong and attacking, with MK hardly breaking into our 23 at all. The defence line broke down any play that came their way and neatly found players up the pitch to create attacks towards the D. Helen, returning from injury, was quick in midfield and created problems for the MK defence early on with several nice 1-2's with Emma. New player Livi was strong in midfield too, linking together some good passes with the forwards.
Our intensity of play was great, and MK were getting frustrated at our speed and skill in moving the ball. Kate H fearlessly pushed through the MK defence into the D, and when the ball went loose following a tackle Kate was quick to react and beautifully set up Jen to shoot at goal! 1-0!
A quick counter by MK followed and they were awarded a short corner. Rebecca was fast out and got to the ball as the striker wound up for her shot, and pushed the ball out of trouble before the strike came. A couple more presses from MK followed but all were dealt with strongly.
Second half, we started attacking hard again from the off and MK struggled to keep us at bay. Ophelia played beautifully, out skilling player after player, and Emily too outplayed her defender. Emma made some great leading runs and allowed Kate G the space to grab our second goal!
Soon after, our third goal followed by some more terrific play by Emma and Emily, with another stunning finish by Kate G. Berko then saw off any last minute effort by the oppo with some superb breakdowns from Trish, Annamarie, Zoe and Rebecca to secure a clean sheet. MOM went to Emma Walker who played a very intelligent game of hockey, and kept fighting til the end.
Well done all, brilliant effort and work rate to earn our win!
