Ladies 4s saw a well-deserved 2-1 win yesterday against Chiltern 3s.  Although the team was short of several regular players, a couple of the 3s whose game was after stepped in to give us some help (thank you!).

In the first half we had some great runs from Ellie In midfield to prevent her player scoring several goals. Some good crosses from Chops to the wing made a couple of chances for Becca or Emma to score, but their defence stayed strong and Chiltern counter-attacked, taking play up to our  D where Sam and her defence cleared out a breakthrough from left wing.
Half time was 0-0, both teams went for a team talk and some sugar: Berko came out fighting, Lara and Evie stayed strong in  midfield on their players hassling and winning the ball back to break down Chiltern’s play.  Evie. Some lovely pressure from all of the Long corners and with one Becca drove it up to the right corner passing to Ellie (out of D) who crossed it to Emma who slapped it in.
Immediately after Chiltern picked up the pace and drove down into the D. despite great defending they earned a short. The ball came out and with a straight strike dipped down over the line, tricky for the keeper to keep out. Both on even points we were determined to get another goal and secure the win. Lizzie, on post was waiting when Emma intercepted the ball from there long corner and ran it into the D , a straight strike and Lizzie’s deflection put us as the winners!
The pressure us to stay ahead for  the rest of the game and Chiltern weren’t giving up easily, with Deb, Jenny and Katie covering the defence to keep them out, and some fantastic saves from Sam.
