Berko 1's keep the title hope alive with a 6-1 victory...
New pitch, slight detour via a school for Prof. Eaton and and eventual Man of the match Xavi Bryans.

On a bouncy exposed Astro, Berko arrived in their dribs and drabs, some only managing to arrange lifts an hour before the meet...
A lacklustre first few minutes saw WHE grow in confidence against the league leaders, and put the away team under the cosh for a prolonged spell. With the experienced Savage excelling at right wing, Berko started to turn the game.
A great passage of play down the right provided a short corner, which Allam duly dispatched clipping the top of the back board with a fizzing strike.   Moments later a rash challenge on Webb, in the home sides 25 led to another short corner, with Allam lining up a flick the keeper did his utmost to dive under it.
2 zip at half time.
Second half started as the first finished. Berko pressing high and forcing mistakes from WHE defence.
This high press forced the ball to Webb loose in the D who rifled home a reverse stick shot. Unfortunately Berko started to sit back and let WHE play which led to a short which they converted the second rebound.
In and around this moment they had a few more opportunities, but my eyesight isn't what it used to be and I couldn't see much but for the flailing baby blue pads of super keeper Bryan's making some great last ditch saves.  (Our thoughts go out to regular starter D Seymour who is holed up in London Bridge having his back done, caused by a recurring injury from carrying the team last season)
Normality soon resumed with Allam powering home another flick to the top left from a short corner. (Hat-trick)
4-1, once again Berko dropped off and allowed WHE a flash at goal but the tackle in the build up, was deemed a little late by the home umpire and awarded a flick(??).
There CF relishing the chance to grab a goal back went low to his left, Xavi having not conceded a flick in Berko Club colours duly stepped up and donned his cape and flung himself right. Making a superb 2 handed save low to his right.  Spurred on by this let off, a quick break up the left, led to Prof. Eaton throwing a quality fairial, which bounced over the CB stick and into the path of Allam who slotted first time passed the on rushing keeping.
Last play of the game led to Allam supplying Webb at the back post who grabbed his brace.
A solid performance all round.  Especially when it wasn't going our way, and the patience to grind them down, then to be composed in front goal.
Lastly thanks to Robin for stepping in and blowing the whistle.  Top job, happy to have your help whenever you can.

WHE 1 - 6 Berko
