Berkhamsted turned up for the game ( in which a win would almost guarantee promotion ) with a changed line up ,which reflected the poor availability within the men's section this weekend.

We started well, piling pressure on the Letchworth defence and creating several good chances - unfortunately none were converted. The finale of this stage of play was Pete Allam rounding the keeper and reverse flicking the ball into a defender's chest on the goal line ,however both umpires were unsighted and the ball was cleared away. After this Letchworth pushed forward forcing us to defend too deeply, giving them good possession on our 25. A crisp reverse stick shot accounted for their first followed shortly after by one from a penalty corner. 2-0 at half time.
The second half followed the pattern of the end of the first with the oppo in control. Another penalty corner followed by a flick made it 4-0. To Berko's credit we kept fighting with a consolation goal coming from James Godsell.
The reality of it was that Letchworth turned up with their A team and Berko under performed, particularly missing the industriousness of Alderson and Webb.
One positive was the excellent and composed debut from  Dom Peachy.
Man of the Match : I don't know, but it wasn't me.
