Yesterday was our 2nd league match of the season - this time we played against Cheshunt. In cold, blustery and very wet conditions the contest was evenly matched.

Cheshunt were a spirited and vocal team who had obviously come to play. After a balanced first 15 minutes we scored three goals in a relatively short period. With some athletic diving and rolling in midfield from Tom and an early sending off for Larry. We scored three goals. The first, second and third goals all being driven in by Bowman.
This meant we went into half time confident and in good shape. However, after what must have been a rousing half time talk from the Cheshunt coach, they came out full of energy and determination to make it a competitive match. We took our eye off the ball, in more ways than one, and Cheshunt scored 2 quick goals in a couple of minutes. Fortunately we raised our own level with some strong defence from matt , some quick midfield plays from Larry and a great forth goal from Pete.
This restored our lead back to two goals and we settled back into our usual patterns of play, controlling the midfield and moving the ball down the flanks. Our final and fifth goal put the contest out of reach for Cheshunt by bowman and we secured our league points.
In the end man of the match was Bowman for his 4 goals, but assists coming from Pete and Freddie with 2 each.
