Full of momentum and hope the 3’s travelled East to the home of table toppers Bishops Stortford. Armed with the bare 11 could an upset be on the cards?

The team, captained by Steve started brightly, slick interchanges across the field giving Stortford food for thought. Despite the start Berko fell behind to a well worked goal and this seemed to knock our confidence. The first half didn’t get much better and with a little luck. and a couple of short corners Bishops Stortford went in with a 4-0 lead.
Half time, a time for the captain to corral the troops. A recap on the high press, a timely reminder on the brand of hockey we want to play.
So on to the second half and another bright start from Berko. Freddy and Josh bursting down the wings, the defence marshalling the Stortford  forwards. Simon and Ed busy in the middle park, full of industry and creativeness. Early on in the second half saw another great passing move, the ball falling to Ed in the D, no mistake as clinical as ever, 4-1... Surely not.... We poured forward at every opportunity. A short corner saw a great effort by Dawod correctly but unfortunately disallowed. Still we pressed but sadly were unable to find further break through.
And then the final whistle, the end of the what was truly a game of 2 halves. The second half belong to Berko, providing momentum for the battles to come . Thanks to all the guys, great game to play. We should be proud of some of the hockey we played ...
On to next week, and in the words of Stevie G ‘we go again’...
