Summary of Roles
Fixtures Secretary
- Coordinates fixtures for the club over the season, liaison with leagues and other teams, pitches and the club's Umpire Liaison Officer.
- Adjusts programme as the season develops for cancellations due to bad weather, etc.
Health and Safety Officer
- Provides Health and Safety advice to Executive, Trading and Hockey Committee to ensure appropriate policies, standards and procedures are in place and followed to comply with Health and Safety regulations (including annual review of BHHHC Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Log Book).
- Ensures teams have trained First Aiders by providing First Aid Training Courses.
- Ensures teams have a First Aid kit and have access to first aid stocks for replenishment.
- Liaises with Emergency Services to ensure AED is maintained and available for use.
- Likely to be a Health & Safety professional experienced in applying current H&S regulations.
Safeguarding Officer
- Provides advice to Executive and Hockey Committee on compliance with safeguarding regulations and ensures BHHHC policies are regularly reviewed, updated and complied with.
- Likely to be a Safeguarding professional experienced in applying current Safeguarding regulations.
Sponsorship and Fundraising
- Coordinating sponsorship and fundraising opportunities to support BHHHC activities.
In-School Programme Coordinator
- Supporting and managing delivery of the BHHHC in school hockey development programme.
Membership Secretary
- Maintaining the club membership details in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Expediting late payment of subscriptions and/or match feed.
- Reporting status to Hockey Committed before committee meetings.
Umpire Liaison Officer
- Coordinating BHHHC Umpire Pool (c. 40 umpires) to ensure all home league games have appropriately qualified umpires (c. 100 home games requiring c. 200 volunteer umpires per season).
- Support development of BHHHC Umpires (Level 1 Training, Level 1 Assessment and ongoing development).
Walking Hockey
- Promoting BHHHC Walking Hockey for all ages and abilities.
- Coordinating enjoyable training and game sessions.
- Collecting session fees.
Website/Email Administrator
- Maintenance, support and development of BHHHC web site (currently Pitchero), email and electronic archive (currently dropbox) solutions.
- Likely to have an IT background with experience of administering software systems advantageous.
Summer Hockey Coordinator - Monday Night
- Coordinate players and match fee collection for Summer Weekday Mixed Hockey Games using Pitchero.
Summer Hockey Coordinator - Wednesday Grass Hockey
- Coordinate players and match fee collection and BBQ for Summer Wednesday Grass Hockey Games using Pitchero.
Summer Hockey Coordinator - Saturday Vagabonds
- Coordinate players and match fee collection for Summer Saturday Mixed Hockey Games using Pitchero.
Newsletter Editor
- Editing and publication of the weekly BHHHC Newsletter.
Tony Lighfoot Youth Fund Administrator
- Managing applications, fundraising and payments from the fund, which subsidises individuals and/or organisations who might otherwise not be able to afford to experience playing hockey, and promotes youth hockey at the club.
